David Croft

A combination of life, karate, cooking and disability

  • David Croft returns to the Churchill Hotel in London!

On a recent visit to London to undertake various access work former pastry chef at the Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill David Croft was invited to look around the hotel again. This was a very poignant moment for David having had such an enjoyable time at the hotel in the late 1970’s before going to Bermuda to work. The Churchill was also very supportive to David after his spinal injury in Bermuda in 1980. Likewise, the Churchill hotel was very supportive to the former HCBA now industry charity Hospitality Action combining efforts to enable David to become more independent via an adapted vehicle. This was the result of various fund raising events by the Churchill and HCBA. The Churchill was also supportive to others with spinal injuries holding a major fund raising event a few years after David’s accident. Following a tour of the kitchens and the hotel a brief chat was had over coffee with Executive Chef Mark Sainsbury who can be seen in the photo below with David. As a ‘Thank you’ for arranging the visit copies of Food for Thought were given to Mark Sainsbury, General Manager Arnaud de Saint-Exupéry and the Human Resources Department.
