  • Paul Mariner gets a signed copy of Food for Thought…

Former Plymouth Argyle Manager Tony Waiters, Plymouth Argyle strikers Billy Rafferty and Paul Mariner recently returned to Plymouth for a reunion along with other players of the 1974/75 promotion winning squad aptly named the ‘Dream team’. The weekend coincided with Plymouth Argyle winning their home game 5 – 1 with the players from the ‘Dream season’ being paraded on the pitch to a lot of celebration from the fans. On the Sunday a celebration lunch was held with the various players reencountering their time playing for the team and David Croft was fortunate to attend the lunch, which also consisted in Tony Waiters explaining various aspects of the ‘Dream season’. After lunch a raffle and auction was held with the players also signing copies of the book named ‘The Waiter’s era’. In turn David gave various players a copy of Food for Thought, which also includes the ‘Dream season’ and then Tony Waiters, Billy Rafferty and Paul Mariner kindly signed a copies of Food for Thought. This book will be used in an auction for a fund raising event later in the year.
